Conversation Hypnosis: Emotions and Confusion Are Key

July 23rd, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Conversation hypnosis is a way to speak and act with someone that appeals to their emotions and gets them to do what you want. Whether you’re trying to sell something, trying strike a bargain, or just trying to get someone to come over to your way of thinking, using Conversation Hypnosis techniques is the best way to make it happen.

When you use conversation hypnosis the person you’re talking to will feel a psychological connection to you. That’s because you’re creating that connection, by being confident, listening sympathetically to the things the person is saying, and showing that you understand him and where he is coming from.

One of the best ways to use conversation hypnosis is through metaphor–telling a story that makes the important point you’re trying to get through to your listener. Even though you’re just telling a story, its meaning is deep and is understood subconsciously by the person on an emotional level. This is perfect because the emotions are what you’re looking to touch. When you trigger someone’s feelings, you can easily persuade them.

When you’ve planted that “seed”, you help that seed grow by using a little confusion or reverse psychology. If you were to say, “Don’t think about a waterfall,” the person’s thoughts go straight to a waterfall. That’s how powerful the power of suggestion is, and it’s one of the basics of human nature.

This is when you take your listener from being emotionally hooked, to confusing her a little and throwing her off kilter. This confusion will get her to focus on exactly what you want–in this case, a waterfall.

The reason for touching the emotions and then confusing is to override decision making skills– the rational mind. When the mind is being emotional it’s open to suggestion. When that suggestion is coming from you, then you’re in control. When you’re in control, you’ve mastered conversational hypnosis.
